Re: Has anybody seen Omkara yet?
Sun, September 24, 2006 - 6:03 AMyep... a good adaptation of shakespeare's classic "Othello" in the rusty, haunting landscape of rural north-india... and a must-watch for fans of Saif...
But dont blame me if after watching the movie you feel squeamish about the ill-treatment meted out to female characters, coz i definitely felt so.. (and this ofcourse is not representative of the way indians treat the female in general, as someone was telling me the other day on india community in orkut)..

Re: Has anybody seen Omkara yet?
Fri, January 26, 2007 - 9:13 AMJust saw it recently, and I liked it a lot.
The photography and scenery were exceptional. I liked the settings. And the scene at the end with the swing was one of those cinematic moments that I'll always remember...incredibly well done.
I also like seeing Bipasha with her usual makeup...it took me a few seconds to realize who she was in a few of the scenes.

Re: Has anybody seen Omkara yet?
Wed, April 4, 2007 - 3:13 PMFor anyone living in the Los Angeles area, Omkara will be screening one night only att he Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. It is a 21+ screening where you can buy drinks at the bar and take them in with you.
As Shakespeearean adaptations go, this one is exceptional. It manages to stay true to the intensity of the original text, yet it has a distincly Indian flare. The entire cast was phenomenal, but I love just about everything Konkana Sen Sharma does.
