Someone told me about Spike Lee using the song CHAIYYA CHAIYYA from DIL SE as the opening and closing music for his movie INSIDE MAN, so I picked it up from the library.
It was very weird to hear the music outside of DIL SE. But I have to tell you, the movie was pretty good.
The end credits have another version of it with a rap sequence that is pretty interesting.
Bollywood is the best!!!!

Yup...you're right on that one. I gave a co-worker a YouTube link to the subtitled music video from Dil Se and he thought it was kind of weird, too. But the tune is kind of catchy...that's probably why they used it.

Fri, January 4, 2008 - 10:02 PMchayaa chayya is no ordinary song.
It is inspired from a song written & composed by an 18th century Sufi- Bulleh Shah (who keeps giving us one megahit after next) -

Sat, January 5, 2008 - 12:50 PMVery nice clip. I've seen Rabbi Shergill's cds in stores for the past couple years. Had no idea this song was so popular, there are even related YouTube clips of Indian Idol contestants singing it as well.
